Hamiltonian Theory: The Hamiltonian, Hamilton's equation, Hamilton's Principle, Canonical transformations. Hamilton's-Jacobi Theory. Readings: 1. Chorlton: A Text Book of Dynamics (Van Nostrand). 2. Greenwood, D.T.: Classical Dynamics (Prentice-Hall). Assessment is by assignments and examination.
